Built upon a network of pillars and raised levels to take advantage of the cooling river breezes, Anyadwe house has natural landscape with lawns sweeping down towards the Nile River. The villa has been designed to be as eco-friendly as possible with rain water collection, biodigesters, insulated roofing and high ceilings for cooling and solar power for electricity (including WIFI) and water heating requirements. The spacious rooms, all have netted opening windows and doors to naturally facilitate cooling of the house, additionally supported with overhead fans, to ensure guests’ comfort. The ground level offers a central lounge and large covered patio with fully opening concertina doors offering additional space and spectacular views. A combined butler’s pantry and kitchen is provided with all the required equipment for those guests wishing to be more involved in their meal preparation or who wishes to make a personal choice of cocktail or midnight snack. Options for both inside and outside dining are available, and the upstairs relaxation area includes a large covered veranda providing 180 degree views of the river allowing guests to savour a spectacular sunrise or sunset.
Our chefs will freshly prepare full, multi course dining with personal choices and a focus on local flavours with healthy, fresh ingredients. A good selection of wines and other bar items are available, all served by our experienced, friendly Ugandan team.
Hot beverages are available throughout the day either on a self-service basis or delivered to anywhere within the facility you may choose. Early morning wake-up calls with room service is possible, allowing you to awake gently and enjoy the early morning riverside views.
Our multi-level private pool area offers a welcome option to cool off from the day’s activities with river views from the sun lounging deck area suitably raised above the ground level to ensure no wildlife, such as our resident hippos, will be tempted to join the swimming activities after attending to the lawn moving!
Our large, private river frontage area allows for short walks and excursions to enjoy the vistas and abundant birdlife. Boat excursions for further wildlife viewing are provided from our jetty.
